Our Opportunity:  Human Resources Clerk/Assistant

 Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and administrating human resources services in accordance with employment law, company policies and the needs of the organization.  This may include special projects and preparing for special events.  This is a part-time position 5-6 hours per day Monday through Friday.

Primary Duties:

  • Assists Human Resources Manager and Staffing Coordinator with recruiting efforts to include: conducting phone screens, maintaining applicant files, preparation of advertisements or distribution of flyers, performs background verifications.
  • Coordinates Interviews and sets appointments
  • Assists with HRIS data entry / Timeclock maintenance as needed.
  • Prepares new hire packages.
  • Creates employee badges as needed.
  • Maintains personnel files and records in accordance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures.
  • Tracks physicals, DMV Pull records and checks references
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports as needed.
  • Prepares certificates and other awards as needed.
  • Answers telephone and responds to inquiries.
  • Maintains good public relations with residents, staff and guests.
  • Performs other relevant and related duties as required.
  • Provides back up to reception as needed.
  • Able to push/pull 40 pounds.

 Education, skills, & abilities (qualifications and experience required for this position):

  • High School degree and 1-2 years' experience office environment preferably within the Human Resources field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Able to learn and understand federal and state Employment laws to include: Title VII, Fair Labor Standards Act, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA, ACA Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Employment & Housing Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Applications and perform ad hoc reporting
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Previous experience in providing services to people with developmental disabilities helpful.
